HOUSTON – Registration for the 2017 Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon opened today, Global Running Day, at 8:00 a.m. CT and will remain open until entries sell out. Fundraising For Registration Charity Entries are also available for runners to support one of the 61 Official Run for a Reason Charities.

Race-day for the 45th Chevron Houston Marathon and the 16th Aramco Houston Half Marathon is Sunday, January 15, 2017. The participant cap for both races is 27,000; 13,500 in the half marathon and 13,500 in the marathon. The ABB 5K will be held on Saturday, January 14 and will have a cap of 6,000 participants.

Global Running Day, held annually on the first Wednesday in June, is a day for people around the world to celebrate the joys of running. It is a worldwide celebration of the sport, and a way for runners of all ages and abilities to share their passion for running and inspire others to get moving. The Million Kid Run on Global Running Day aims to get young people moving. The goal is to have a million kids around the world pledge to run on June 1, 2016.
