Do Not Give Up Before the Miracle Happens

I am a 46 year old woman who never felt so strong, not even in my twenties. The reason why I feel so strong is because I am not only training my body but most of all, my brain.

I became a strong woman that day, when although the pain all over my body during my first marathon, I resisted the urge to give up as in that particular moment I understood that giving up is not a phrase that belongs to my vocabulary. I fought with every molecule of my body, I fought like a lion. I discovered something important about myself that I didn’t know.

I was going through a particular phase of my life and that discovery saved me, gave me a chance to embrace life’s events with a different attitude.

This is why I like to say that running is the metaphor of life.

I didn’t know how strong I was until being strong was my only choice. I wanted to reach the finish line and nothing could stop me.

We, as human beings, have unseen potential that cannot wait to be let free. There is no limit to our possibility if you open up your heart and mind for reaching far from where you are standing.

All it takes is to step out your comfort zone.

Take a deep breath and then go; life is beautiful with its mysterious way to take place. It’s up to us to discover what magic we can experience. Eventually, you won’t be able to accomplish your goals at every instance but the satisfaction of trying is even the one that will let you free.

I learned that this predisposition of me not giving up has opened beautiful destinations. Three years ago, for instance, I would never believe that one day I could qualify for the Boston marathon as well as running a marathon in 3:37:00.

The miracle happened in my so loved 2020 Chevron Houston Marathon with a bib number 4040!

It was the day in which I unleashed the beast (my coach’s motivational quote).

Nothing can stop the heart of a woman who has let her confidence out, who runs fearlessly towards new beginnings, who embraces the power of love and all the miracles it creates, whose inner force keeps showing that energy is always transforming into marvelous feelings, whose body, mind and spirit drive her soul.

Today my goal is to run a marathon in 3:30:00 and I am 46 years old. I am aging but I am becoming stronger, the best feeling ever.

Importantly, the people around you are very important during your journey and I am so lucky to be surrounded by incredible runners, like my coach Calum Neff, who not only is an impressive athlete and coach but also the right guy who always supports you during your down moments, not to mention my running buddies who give me much joy and inspiration.

I love running because I keep discovering who I am and becoming every day the best version of myself. I learn from my mistakes and try again.

I run a lot and sweat more.

You have a million possibilities, use it all and be your own rock star.

… and yes, miracles do happen if you believe so!
