Vicky Oddi – Senior Manager, Communications

Vicky Oddi joined the Houston Marathon Committee in September of 2012 as the communications manager and is responsible for all written collateral, including press releases, the website and the race day program, along with creating and implementing the social media strategy.

Prior to joining the HMC, Oddi worked for NBC Olympics and Universal Sports as a web producer where she produced the day-to-day content for track and field for universalsports.com and was the mirror producer for nbcolympics.com at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Oddi also spent five years as a communications coordinator with USA Track & Field, where she was responsible for coverage of elite, junior and masters events and served as a press officer at multiple world championships and the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

Oddi graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in business management in 2003. She went on to earn a master’s degree in sports management from Temple University in 2006. Vicky has run 15 half marathons and has a personal best of 1:57. She was a member of the Division I track and field team while at Coastal Carolina University; her events were pole vault and triple jump.
