The Chevron Houston Marathon Run for a Reason Program connects the philanthropic community to passionate race participants willing to fundraise and raise awareness for meaningful causes. Individuals can select an official Run for a Reason charity from a variety of categories that serve constituents based locally, nationally or internationally. Since the program’s inception in 1995, more than $28 million has been raised to benefit various charities. For each of the past seven years, the Run for a Reason Program has surpassed two million dollars.

Charity Race Registration Opportunities

HERO Registration

HERO entries are guaranteed registrations into the Chevron Houston Marathon or Aramco Houston Half Marathon by making a one-time tax-deductible donation of at least $350 to an official Run for a Reason charity, plus the cost of registration.

Fundraising for Registration Entry

Fundraising for Registration entries give runners an opportunity to fundraise on behalf of an official Run for a Reason charity. Fundraising minimums vary by charity, but will not be lower than $500. Individuals interested in fundraising for registration should apply via the charity registration page for their selected charity organization.
