HERO Race Entry
HERO charity entries are guaranteed registrations into the 2017 Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon.
A HERO entry allows a runner to…Register for the 2017 marathon or half marathon by making a tax-deductible donation of at least $350 to an official Run for a Reason charity, plus the cost of registration.
Individuals can also purchase a guaranteed entry for someone else through the “Gift a HERO” program. All runners MUST be registered by December 2, 2016.
Fundraising for Registration Entry
Fundraising for Registration charity entries give runners an opportunity to fundraise for an official Run for a Reason charity of their choice. Fundraising minimums are set by each individual charity. The minimum required fundraising amount is $500, but may be higher. Runners should contact the charity of their choice directly for additional details. All runners must be registered by December 2, 2016.

Chevron Houston Marathon Run for a Reason Program
Chevron Houston Marathon Run for a Reason is a program of local, national and international charities that race registrants can support while participating in the Chevron Houston Marathon, Aramco Houston Half Marathon and ABB 5K race weekend of events. The 2016-2017 charity lineup includes a variety of important causes including medical research and support, community outreach, animal protection and more.
Linking 33,000 runners with various charities, the Chevron Houston Marathon Run for a Reason charity program provides an avenue for race participants, individuals and organizations to collect donations on behalf of an official charity of their choice. It also provides a platform for charities to raise awareness and educate others about their cause.
The 2015-2016 season marked the sixth year in a row that fundraising surpassed the $2 million mark. Since the program’s inception in 1995, more than $24 million has been raised to benefit various charities.
