The Houston Marathon Committee is dedicated to providing ways to reduce our carbon footprint during race weekend. Below are several ways you can reduce carbon emissions during your travel to the Downtown area.
Houston Green Link
For those planning on attending the Ironman Sports Medicine Institute at Memorial Herman EXPO on Friday, Green Link buses can offer a free source of transportation. Operating from 6:30am-6:30pm, seven Green Link buses patrol a 2.5 mile circuit complete with eighteen different stops. The Green Link circuit connects many popular destinations in downtown Houston such as Discovery Green, the George R. Brown Convention Center, City Hall, and many others. Each Green Link bus is powered by compressed natural gas, significantly reducing its carbon footprint on the surrounding environment. With an average wait time of seven minutes, Green Link buses won’t keep you waiting long.
