Texas Children’s Hospital Kids’ Fun Run

Children of all abilities are invited to participate in the 13th annual Texas Children’s Hospital Kids’ Fun Run. The 3K and 1K event is the kickoff to the 2010 Chevron Houston Marathon weekend giving all participants the opportunity to cross the official Marathon finish line. At the Texas Children’s Hospital Kids’ Fun Run, every kid is a winner as they learn that fitness can be fun, a lesson that will last a lifetime.

The event is Saturday, January 16, 2010, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston.

All children ages 5 - 15 years (K-8), including children with special needs, are invited to participate in the 3K Run or Walk.  Children with special needs may also choose to participate in the 1K Adaptive Run or Walk.

Online registration will open in Fall 2010. Pre-race registration is also available on Friday, January 15, 2010, at the Marathon Expo in the George R. Brown Convention Center. The event is limited to 5,000 participants.

The 2010 race is the kickoff event for the Chevron Houston Marathon weekend. The race course covers a portion of the actual marathon course and all participants finish their run by crossing the official Chevron Houston Marathon finish line.

Pre-race registration is $10.00. Registration is also available on race day for $15.00. All registration includes a fun run T-shirt, commemorative medal and admission to the Kids’ Fun Run Expo. 

Race fees will be waived for schools registering student groups K-8. Coaches and chaperons must accompany school groups. Online registration will also open in Fall 2010.
