For the fourth year in a row, runners from all over Texas lined up at CITYCENTRE in Houston to run the Green 6.2.

Early this past Saturday morning, on a flat, fast course that winds through the Memorial Villages and ends at the CITYCENTRE courtyard, over 350 runners ran sub-51:08 to qualify for early registration for the 2014 Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon. The Houston Marathon Committee’s own Steven Karpas, the Managing Director of Business Development and Marketing, finished seventh overall and won his age group when he crossed the line in 37:55.5.

Victoria Webster (Houston, TX) was the overall women’s winner in 41:12.7, while Abinet Adraro (Houston, TX) won the men’s race in 32:41.9.

Every participant who ran under 51:08 (and also meets the age requirements) is now eligible to register during the early registration period, May 7-30, for the 2014 Race Weekend of events.  Those who did not meet the time requirement have until May 30 to do so. But time qualifiers are limited and the spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
