Samantha Bivenour
Age: 25
Hometown: Columbus, OH
Occupation: Works for Lululemon Athletica
Marathons Completed: 1

January 15th will be a significant day for Samantha Bivenour. She will be both celebrating her 26th birthday and running her second marathon. After completing the Chevron Houston Marathon, she will be one step closer to finishing her goals.

Two years ago, Bivenour could only run less than a mile and lacked inspiration to do any more. Everything changed when she found a new career and met people who influenced her life positively. “I was surrounded by healthy, goal-driven people who became friends and inspirations to me,” said Bivenour.

In her new career, she helped others achieve their goals. That was not enough to satisfy Bivenour; she decided to be an example and fulfill her own aspirations. After signing up for her first marathon in Athens, OH she had officially caught the running-fever.

To train for the marathon Bivenour, is a member of Kenyan Way and runs with BON Running Club, Block 7 run club. “My favorite place to run is Houston–all of it!” said Bivenour. “I have checked out more of the city on foot during a run than I have in a car!”

Bivenour’s parents, Godfather, and Aunt will be present, cheering her on at the Chevron Houston Marathon. Her goals are to complete 20 marathons and 2 ultra marathons by the year 2020, as well as inspire others to strive for greatness.

She would like to share some advice with those who do not, but want to start running. “Anyone can do it. One foot in front of the other to the finish. Focus on finishing. Time doesn’t matter.”
