HOUSTON (August 1, 2017) – The Houston Marathon Foundation has been selected as one of four non-profit finalists to compete during the month of August to win one hundred percent of Organized Kollaboration on Restaurant Affairs’ (OKRA’s) proceeds for an entire month. OKRA Charity Saloon is a non-profit bar that supports local charities through a monthly voting system.
From August 1 – 31, 2016, for every food or beverage purchase, guests receive one vote that they may cast for one of the four charities selected by OKRA Members. The charity with the most votes at the end of the month will receive the following month’s proceeds. OKRA is open daily from 4:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. CT and is located at 924 Congress Avenue, Houston, 77002.
The HMF will hold weekly no-host happy hours at OKRA every Thursday throughout the month of August. Please join us and cast your vote for the HMF.
Should the HMF win OKRA’s charity contest, the funds received will be used to support the numerous youth and community running initiatives led by the Houston Marathon Foundation.
