Can I pick up my packet on race day?

My friend was placed in a different corral. Can we start together?

Yes. Entrants who are assigned to different corrals but wish to start together may do so. If your friend was placed in a corral behind yours, then you are welcome to forego your assignment and join them in the other corral. Entrants may move back to another corral, but not forward.

What are the time limits for the marathon and half marathon?

The time limit for the half marathon is four hours. However, in order to complete the race faster than the roads are being re-opened to vehicular traffic, all half marathon participants must be able to maintain a pace of 13:45 per mile or faster over the first eight miles of the course. Do you have a pace team?

Yes, we do offer pacers for the marathon and half marathon. The Pace Team is a group of runners who run together during the Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon. They share the same finish time goal (from 2 hours and 55 minutes to 6 hours) and help one another stay on pace.

Can I use my Chevron Houston Marathon time to qualify for the Boston Marathon?

Yes! The Boston Marathon accepts qualifying times from the Chevron Houston Marathon. Qualifying times for the Boston Marathon vary by age group. Click here for a complete breakdown of qualifying times. The Houston Marathon Committee will send a complete list of finishers to the BAA about a week after the race.

What are the age groups for awards?

Awards are given to the top three male, female and non-binary finishers in each race for the following age categories: 11 and under (half marathon & 5K only), 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 50-74, 75-79, 80+ If a registrant prefers not to specify a gender, the registrant may do so
