The Houston Marathon Foundation (HMF) is a community organization that serves the greater Houston area through program management and support of organizations that demonstrate sound fiscal management, efficient operation, and program integrity while promoting an understanding of, access to, and/or participation in running as part of a physical fitness regimen. It is the mission of HMF to support the advancement of running as an element of a balanced, healthy lifestyle in the Houston community and nationally and one of the ways we achieve that mission is through the We Run Houston* after-school running program.

We Run Houston is an all encompassing running program that allows schools to create running clubs and train for participation in the We Are Houston 5K and/or Aramco Houston Half Marathon. Schools must provide a safe after-school environment and work with students on creating healthy habits, setting long term and short term goals, building healthy peer and adult relationships all while training for a distance running event.  Approved schools will receive guaranteed entry in the Houston Marathon weekend of events and other potential benefits.

HMF is now accepting applications from Houston area schools to be a part of the We Run Houston after-school running program for the 2019 events. Interested schools and representatives can apply by completing this application.
