Of Note:

At Honda LA Marathon, her debut, Hastings had to battle shin-deep water at times on the rain-soaked course but posted the third-fastest American debut ever … As a young runner, idolized Deena Kastor and Jen Rhines, now her training partners in the Mammoth Track Club under coach Terrence Mahon. “It was like meeting movie stars for the first time,” she told Running Times … Now Mahon calls her “Little Deena” because they both like to run hard and lead … Received a lot of advice before Honda LA Marathon from her Arizona State teammate and good friend Desiree Davila.
