Registration for the 2011 Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon is now open and closes on Thursday, August 12 at 11:59 p.m. CST.
Registration for the El Paso Corporation 5K (EP5K) opens on Monday, September 13, 2010.
The 2011 races will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2011. Click here for additional race day information
Below are the registration options for our 2011 races:
1. Lottery Registration
The Houston Marathon Committee is adopting a lottery system for the 2011 Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon is now open and closes on Thursday, August 12 at 11:59 p.m. CST. All individuals and groups that enter the lottery, regardless of the date and time they register, will have an equal chance of being selected for the marathon or half marathon races.
On August 17, participants will be notified via email if they have been selected or not selected. A search box will also be available on the registration page of our website. Click here for more details about the lottery and how it works.

2. VIP Registration
The Houston Marathon Committee is offering a limited number of VIP packages to give runners a unique opportunity to run with the elite athletes competing in the 2011 USA Half Marathon Championships on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. To be eligible to purchase these packages, runners must be able to complete a half marathon under a 2.5-hour time limit. 3. Heroes Charity Registration
"Become a Hero" and guarantee a race entry into our 2011 marathon or half marathon. The Heroes charity registration enables runners to make an up-front, direct donation of at least $350 to an official race charity of the runner's choice, plus the cost of registration to secure a spot in either race. 4. Fundraising for Registration
The Fundraising for Registration program gives runners an opportunity to fundraise for an official Run for a Reason charity of their choice and receive an entry into the marathon or half marathon. This program eliminates any upfront, out-of-pocket costs associated with entering the race. Runners must contact participating charities directly for details as each organization sets its own fundraising minimum, guidelines and deadlines.

- One (1) guaranteed race entry into the 2011 marathon or half marathon on Sunday, January 30 (transferrable to another person)

There is no packet pickup or registration on race day. Packets will not be mailed.
Once you are registered for the marathon or half marathon, you may switch to a different distance race (i.e. from the marathon to the half marathon or 5K, or from the half marathon to the marathon or 5K). Participants in the 5K may not switch up to the marathon or half marathon.
Switching Fees
$10, plus an additional $20 for participants who would like to switch up from the half marathon to the marathon.

Important Switching Information
Any participant who runs a race other than the one he/she is registered for will not be scored. It is imperative that the registration data associated with your race number does in fact belong to you, the participant. If the Houston Marathon Committee becomes aware that a runner has participated in one of our events with a bib that is not registered to that runner, both the runner and the person to whom the bib is registered will be prohibited from participating in subsequent Houston Marathon Committee events for a minimum of two years.

Minimum Two-Year Event Ban for Unauthorized Runners
Our races have been marred by numerous participants running under the guise of someone else's race number. While this may seem harmless to the parties perpetrating the unauthorized bib transfer, it does convey serious consequences to the organizers and participant field alike.
From race results to finishers' awards being impacted as well as medical staff being able to correctly identify participants in need of treatment, it is imperative that the registration data associated with your race number does in fact belong to you, the participant.
If race organizers become aware that a runner has participated in one of our events with a bib that is not registered to that runner, both the runner and the person to whom the bib is registered will be prohibited from participating in subsequent Houston Marathon events for a minimum of two years.
