Race Weekend Information

With just weeks left to the 37th running of the Chevron Houston Marathon, Aramco Houston Half Marathon and EP5K, we hope you are well trained and ready to run. Below you'll find information to help make your race weekend experience a breeze. All participants, please pay special attention to 2009 Race Updates and the Final Instructions to your race.

2009 IMPORTANT RACE UPDATES!

New EXPO Location - Hall A3, Third Floor
The Memorial Hermann Sports Medicine EXPO has moved to the third floor of the George R. Brown Convention Center. The EXPO will take place in Hall A3, third floor on Friday, January 16 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, January 17 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

No Chip Check
Each participant will receive a timing chip in their runner packet available for pickup at the EXPO.  Chips are all activated and do not require being turned on.  There will be no chip check stations in the packet pickup areas.  To guarantee that your chip is linked with your personal information, upon picking up your packet, follow these steps:
    1.  Carefully read the contact information printed directly on your race bib in your runner packet, including the chip code.
    2.  Check the back of your chip and verify that the code printed on your bib matches the code on the bottom of your chip.
    3.  If both codes are identical, your chip has the correct runner information and you may proceed.
    4.  If the two codes do not match, you must visit the Help desk at the EXPO to correct the information.

NEW Baggage Check Rule
Participants will be required to check the goodie bag they receive at the registration t-shirt handout in the EXPO.  No other bags will be accepted.  A baggage ticket is included on the top part of your race bib.  Detach the baggage check number and affix it to your goodie bag.

New Post-Race Party Celebration!
This year the Chevron Houston Marathon will host a Post Race Party Zone just steps from the finish line.  The party zone is the perfect place to celebrate finishing the race! There will be snacks, refreshments, a running club and charity village, facilities and beer. Come reward yourself by visiting the parking lot between Rusk St. and Walker St. on Avenida de las Americas to honor your accomplishment!
