The 2011 Aramco Houston Half Marathon takes place on Sunday, January 30, 2011.

The Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon have a protected cap of 22,000 participants. Of the 22,000 entries, 11,000 entries are reserved for each of the marathon and half marathon fields.
The time limit for completing the half marathon is four hours. In order to complete the race faster than the roads are being re-opened to vehicular traffic, all half marathon participants must be able to maintain a pace of 13:45 per mile or faster over the first nine miles of the course.
Any half marathoners finishing after four hours will not be scored as official finishers.
Participants must be at least seven years old on race day to register for the half marathon.

The Aramco Houston Half Marathon features a wave start with the first wave starting at 7:00 a.m., approximately 10 minutes before the second wave start at 7:10 a.m. Wave assignments are determined by the projected pace per mile indicated during registration.
Per USATF rules, gun time is used to determine prize money winners and time bonus recipients. Chip time is used to determine all age-group winners and other award recipients. Unofficial results will include gun and chip time.
All registered participants receive a participation T-shirt at packet pickup. All official half marathon finishers receive a finisher shirt and medal. Uncollected finisher items will not be mailed.
The Aramco Houston Half Marathon will host the Men’s and Women’s 2011 USA Half Marathon Championships. This marks the fifth consecutive year for the Women’s championship and the seventh consecutive year for the Men’s championship. Click here for more information.
In the event of extreme or unsafe conditions on race day, the Aramco Houston Half Marathon may be altered or canceled to ensure the safety of all participants and the community as a whole.
