Welcome runners and walkers. Join us as we raise funds to provide Houston's homeless, neglected, and abused animals a second chance at life.
Starting July 27th at 6:00am, a limited number of guaranteed race entries are available through the "Heros" charity registration. This program enables runners to make a direct tax-deductible donation of at least $350 to the charity of their choice, plus the cost of registration, to secure a guaranteed race entry. Runners can also "fundraise for registration" which requires no up-front, out-of-pocket expense.
The Houston SPCA provides life-saving services, including sheltering; adoptions; foster care; cruelty investigations; 24-hour injured animal rescue service; e-lost and found posting; low cost microchipping; disaster relief, rescue and recovery; and more, to over 100,000 animals a year. In 2009, the Houston SPCA Animal Cruelty Investigation Team drove more than 161,000 miles protecting the innocent and investigated over 15,000 cases of animal abuse, cruelty and neglect.
The Houston SPCA is a private, non-profit charity which receives no funding from the government, United Way or national animal groups. We proudly place 100% of our adoptable, healthy and behaviorally sound, dogs, cats, puppies and kittens into loving new homes every year and can only continue our life saving programs and services with your support.
