Thank you for your interest in Best Buddies, the world's largest nonprofit organization devoted solely to providing opportunities for friendships, leadership training and jobs to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
In Texas, there are 36 high school and 20 college chapters positively impacting over 16,500 Texans every year. Social experiences and relationships are a part of life; unfortunately, individuals with intellectual disabilities have historically been excluded from many of the social opportunities that most people enjoy. Volunteers offer a person with an intellectual disability the chance to explore a new way of life.
Even though Best Buddies has grown tremendously in the past 20 years, most of the country still lacks programs to help people with intellectual disabilities become a part of mainstream society. Our goal is to bring Best Buddies to every corner of Texas, making Best Buddies programs active in every community and on every middle school, high school, and college campus.
