3 "A"Bereavement Foundation (3ABF) was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 1997 based on the belief that the ability to hold a dignified funeral or memorial service for a loved one is vital for bereaved families. Our mission is to enable indigent and low-income bereaved families to expediently secure affordable and meaningful services to meet their bereavement needs.
Most of the families served by 3ABF are best classified as the working poor. These are hard working individuals struggling to make a livable wage, who have suffered through the ordeal of long-term illnesses or are shattered by unexpected losses. They are the loved ones of elderly on fixed incomes, the severely disabled, babies and children with birth defects or other terminal illnesses, stillborn infants, crime victims, AIDS patients, substance abusers, runaways, accident victims, etc. 3ABF concentrates on providing wholeness and healing for these families.
We ask you to run (walk) to make a difference in the lives of bereaved families. Your donation helps us meet the growing needs of indigent and low-income bereaved families in the Houston Metropolitan Area.
Master Roger Holloway, was a Speaker at 3 "A" Bereavement Foundation's Tenth Anniversary Luncheon. An article was written in the Houston Chronicle by Peggy O'Hare on Roger Holloway's devotion to his deceased sister, titled "Somber duty to his sister". "His peers are playing video games or riding their bikes, but Roger Holloway is spending his spring break fulfilling a very personal mission-giving his infant sister a proper burial. Today, thanks to Roger's determination and the kindness of strangers, the baby girl, known in the official record only as Fetus Girl Holloway, will finally be laid to rest near his home at a Waller cemetery instead of in a pauper's grave. Asked why he took such a personal interest, Roger said, "I think it's a better thing to do than to say, Who cares where they're buried?"
